On Friday I posted about my desire to start a community of pastor using Google Wave to collaborate on any number of church matters including message preparation. I thought I would share a little more about my motivation for doing this.
I’m a bi-vocational pastor. This means that between my full-time job, pastoral duties, family and friends, I have very little time to do much of anything else. This includes building relationships with other pastors. These relationships are the hardest to cultivate because most pastors are in a similar situation as my own.
So what’s the big deal? What makes these relationships with others pastors so important anyway? Well, the struggles and issues we face are unique in many ways. Only another pastor can understand the stress that we face or at least the specifics of that stress. It’s a huge comfort to have have a group of people who have face or are facing the same things you are.
So, in the end, I’m not doing this because I want to to do this. I’m doing this because I need to do this. If you need this too please read the previous post and contact me to be added to the group. There are five us already but we need your contribution to the group.
