Making mountains move…even the small ones.

The preview services are almost over and we are headed into full blown regular weekly services. This Sunday is the third and last preview service for LifePoint Community Church. After this Sunday all our focus is on April 8th and beyond as we officially launch the church. Preview services have been both a blessing and a curse at the same time. On the one side they have given us a chance to test certain types of programming, troubleshoot different dynamics of meeting in a movie theater and do so at a lower cost per month. On the other side it can lull you into a false sense of financial security, make it hard to build momentum and disengage your launch team. At least that has been my experience so far. Either way you slice it, we are more prepared for our launch in some ways and less prepared in others.

Our current obstacle with our church launch is really finances. We have had more open doors than we could even walk through and people in our area are seemingly very excited at what we are starting. The question is do we have the money to start it? Craig Groeschel wrote a post called How Do You Start a Church, where he is asking people to ask question that he will touch on in April. I encourage you to go there and post your questions, trust me you want to hear what he has to say. Reading through the questions so far however, you can see that many want to know how to raise funds to support a church launch. This is not a new issue but for us it is a main issue now and unfortunately April is a little too late for us.

For those of you who are not a part of this launch team but read this blog and are praying for this mission I wanted to give you some specifics to be praying for. For those of you on this launch team and those who would like to help us get this mission off the ground I wanted to give you some specifics to pray about but also make it easy for you to contribute. Click on the “make a donation button below and you will be able to make a onetime tax deductable contribution to LifePoint Community Church. This money will be used at covering operating expenses that will thrust into the middle of the mission God has sent us to do. Thank you in advance for your prayers and support.

This is what our basic monthly IN/OUT has looked like up till now: IN – $1,100.00 / OUT – $950.00

This is what our expenditures will be in April: $2,700.00

To get us into April, where we expect to minister to at least 350 people in that month alone, we need $1,700.00 by March 28th.

This is not a huge amount for a church launch by any means but it seems like a lot when you don’t have it. This is just one small obstacle in a journey of many more that God will crush in our path but if you want to crush the $100,000.00 obstacle we must first learn to defeat this one in faith.

Thanks again and I look forward to your prayers.
