My name is James Laws.
You may or may not have heard of me before. You see, I’m not very famous.
No one is asking me to keynote their next big conference, or even speak.
I’m not on any “top influential people to follow” lists.
I’m not the guest being asked to be on all the most popular podcasts.
I’m not heavily followed on Twitter or anywhere else for that matter.
I’m just a pretty simple guy from a small town in Tennessee that started a fairly successful product business.
My only motive for sharing this is to encourage you in your own business endeavors.

It’s easy to believe that only the popular people have any chance at success.
But here’s the thing… No one who buys our products even knows who I am.
We didn’t build our business by the leveraging my good name.
We built damn good products and treated users and customers with respect.
We worked hard.
Now we have product that is running on just under 400k sites and loved by the majority of people who try it.
Popularity can be helpful, but it’s not necessary.
