There is no doubt that looking at the previous scenarios (1, 2) can shed a little bit of light into what will fulfill someone who is looking for that thing they were meant to do. However, remember what I said in the first post of this series. I have found that the simplest answer is the one I was looking for.
Are you ready for it?
Just ask yourself, “How do you spend your spare time right now?”
What non-frivolous thing consumes you when there is nothing to do? What do you find yourself talking about that everyone else gets tired of? I have a feeling if you can answer those questions you will have found your burden. I have.
I talk about, dream about, yell about, think about, study for, plan for, pray for LifePoint every free moment I have and many that I don’t have. I don’t do this because it is my job. My job is as a web administrator and I spend about 45 to 50 hours a week doing that but my burden is LifePoint and it gets everything else.
Now don’t read too much into this. My wife comes before the church. In fact, if she wasn’t first I may have quit a long time ago. What I am talking about is the passion that God put inside me so that I could accomplish something on his behalf. I found it not by dreaming about WHAT I would do if conditions were perfect but looking at what drives me when they are so obviously not.
What drives you?
